VALENTIN IMPERIAL RIVIERA MAYA—June 2023

The Valentin is an adults only all inclusive resort about 30 min from the Cancun airport.

I decided about 10 days before to make a quick trip to the Valentin. Good thing I have a friend who is willing to go at the drop of a hat.

Everyone says I say this about all the resorts, but this resort was truly amazing. What’s odd is that I felt so safe here. I’ve never NOT felt safe anywhere, but something about it just gave me a safe/cozy/intimate feel. People get worried about going to Mexico, but I don’t try to talk them out of it. I just try to figure out where they will feel safe at.

But the Valentin has been around a long time so the vegetation is really full with mature palm trees. A lot of the workers at the Valentin have been long term employees and from what I hear it’s a great family owned resort to work for.

We flew out of Omaha and landed by 1pm in Cancun. I chose a different transfer company this time and Lomas was amazing!!! So happy with their services.

Check-in was a little dicey. I mean everyone is tired and wants to get to their room ASAP or at least the pool, restaurant, drinks, whatever…..I let them know this could have been a little expedited, but other than that everything excelled my expectations. I don’t expect rooms to be ready before 4 pm and we are on Mexico time, so a little grace is needed that first travel day. Geez, I’ve seen people yelling and cursing at some resorts upon check in. The hangry comes out pretty strong for some people at this time.

The ocean was perfect when we were there, the pool clean, and the drinks plentiful. The a la carte restaurants by far exceeded the buffet options.

We decided to watch tv before bed and let’s just say there are a couple channels that my friend and I didn’t watch together, but maybe with my spouse…….I mean it is an adults only resort…..

3 nights wasn’t long enough, but I got a good feel for the resort and it’s probably my top pick in the Riviera Maya area.
